Two Honorees to be Inducted into Allen County Agriculture Hall of Fame

 
Two honorees, Steiner Stock Farm and Wallace Winegardner, will be inducted by the /Allen County Chamber of Commerce into the Allen County Agricultural Hall of Fame presented by Nutrien Lima, during an evening banquet July 19th  at the City Club in Lima.  Steiner Stock Farm dates back to 1885  and is a Standardbred harness, racehorse farm that currently features 26 brood mares. Wallace Winegardner has been farming in Allen County for more than 68 years with both grain and livestock operations. This event is open to any interested person with reservations being accepted through July 11th
 
The Allen County Agriculture Hall of Fame is celebrating its tenth induction class. According to the Chamber’s agri-business committee co-chair Russ Decker, “our goal with the Hall of Fame is to annually recognize local agriculturalists that have been instrumental to the success and excellence of agriculture in Allen County, either as a farmer or in an agricultural-related field. Both of our 2022 inductees truly reflect the award’s purpose of honoring and giving public recognition to those who have brought distinction to themselves, have made outstanding contributions to their professions, and whose community involvement has served as a stimulus to others.” 
 
The induction banquet starts at 6:00 pm with tickets at $15 each.  100% of all ticket proceeds with be donated to the Allen County Junior Fair. Tickets are available online at  limachamber.com through the events calendar or by calling the /Allen County Chamber of Commerce at 419-222-6045.
