In the heart of Lima, Ohio at 606 W. North St. stands Sullivan Insurance—a testament to resilience, dedication, and the power of familial legacy.

It all began with Regis Sullivan, a man whose journey through life mirrored the ebbs and flows of his beloved town. From humble beginnings in 1919, Regis found his calling in the insurance industry in the early forties. Through perseverance and a keen eye for opportunity, he rose through the ranks of Baker-Davisson-Soliday Insurance, eventually birthing Sullivan Insurance in 1947.

Originally located at 43 Town Square (First National Bank building), the agency became a cornerstone of the community, offering protection and peace of mind to generations of Lima residents. When Regis retired in 1980, he passed the torch to his sons: Denton and Craig. With their collective vision and dedication, Sullivan Insurance continued to flourish, weathering the storms of change and progress.

One of Denton’s sons, Grant, emerged as the next steward of the family legacy. Born in the same year his grandfather retired, Grant inherited not just a business, but a tradition of service and commitment to the Lima region. Coming back home after college, Grant embraced the ethos of thinking in 5-10 year windows—an approach that guided his transition into leadership seamlessly.

Grant and his wife epitomize the values of community and livability, choosing to raise their family in Lima and invest in its future. Their children have thrived in the city’s schools, while Grant has immersed himself in civic engagement, earning accolades such as the Chamber’s Young Leader of the Year award in 2015 and Small Business of the Year award in 2022.

For Grant, success was not just measured in financial terms but in the impact his business had on the lives of others. With a motto of “Protecting your assets, insuring your future,” Sullivan Insurance became synonymous with trust and reliability in the region.

But Grant’s vision extended beyond the walls of his agency. He recognized the power of community and the importance of connections in fostering growth. Whether through his involvement on the boards of Legacy Arts, Downtown Lima Inc., or the Lima City Schools, Grant exemplifies the spirit of collaboration and collective prosperity.

As Sullivan Insurance continued to thrive, it remained a beacon of stability in an ever-changing world. Through decades of challenges and triumphs, the agency stood as a testament to the enduring legacy of the Sullivan family and their unwavering commitment to the people of Lima. And for Grant, the journey has not just about protecting assets—it is also about safeguarding dreams and insuring futures for generations to come.
